News Media Representative:
The Georgia National Fair in Perry is preparing to welcome Fairgoers from throughout Georgia and beyond to its unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Livestock entries are being entered in the computer. Quilts have been judged and hung in the Miller-Murphy-Howard Building. Youth entries are filling up Heritage Hall. Reithoffer is setting up its rides on the Midway. Tickets to concerts in Reaves Arena are selling well. And the “Roast Beef Sundae” awaits hungry Fair patrons. Commercial vendors have products and services just for the Fair.
“Sneak-a-Peek” October 2 welcomes everyone at 3:00 p.m. for a preview of the Fair. Highlights of the first day include: Fair food; pay-one-price Midway rides; vendors; home and fine arts competitions; youth exhibits; opening ceremony, 4:00 p.m.; and a free outdoor concert with Kraig Parker.
The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter opened the North Gate October 5, 1990, to over 270,000 people for the first Fair. Last year, more than 431,000 people attended the Georgia National Fair. With 11 days of great weather, we should set another new record.
Story ideas and photo opportunities abound at the Fair . . . youth livestock exhibitors, home and fine arts competitions, new entertainment, the Midway, and the most interesting people! For more information, click on the Fair’s new and improved Web site: www.georgianationalfair.com.
