Georgia National School House

Child On a TractorThe Georgia National Schoolhouse is the state’s largest classroom! The 21st anniversary, state-sponsored Georgia National Fair, October 7-17, 2010, invites students to take a Field Trip of the Fair. We encourage students to tour livestock and horse shows and educational exhibits. The award-winning Stories of Agriculture features 16 educational displays on various agricultural commodities/livestock around the Fairgrounds.

Admission to the Georgia National Schoolhouse is free for students, teachers, and bus drivers, grades Pre-K (4 year olds) through 12th grade with pre-registration only, October 8 and October 11-15 only in the morning. Some chaperones may be subject to a $7 admission charge. Field Trips must be registered in advance. A packet of information will be mailed after a class has signed up. Volunteers will on hand at the North Gate. Field Trips are self-guided. School lunches may be eaten in the North Gate Parking lot. Home school students are also welcome to attend with a minimum of 20 school aged students. With those 20 students, 4 adults are admitted at no charge, with all other adults paying the $7 fee.

There is no limit on the number of students attending the Fair on a Field Trip from any one school. Please call 478-988-6483 or 800-987-3247 (Georgia only) or e-mail thawk@gnfa.com to schedule a Field Trip. THIS YEAR ALL BUSES WILL NEED TO ENTER NORTH GATE
