More Tips

1. Before your visit to the Fair, remind kids of "the rules" - don't talk to strangers, what to do if they get lost, like look for a policeman or go to the Tower for help, maybe even put your cell phone number in their front pocket. It is all about having a safe and fun Fair!

2. WASH your hands! Thoroughly wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before eating, after visiting the animal barns, watching a show, sneezing, you get the idea!

3. Dress for the Fair! In order to see everything the Fair has to offer, wear light clothes in the daytime but don’t forget it can get cool at night in October. Check the forecast before you leave home and most importantly, wear comfortable shoes!

4. Have valuables? Keep it that way. No need to bring your precious family heirlooms to the Fair. If you must, lock them in your trunk!

5. Don't want to have the, "Do you remember where the car is?" conversation? When you park, make sure you take note of some identifiers in the lot near your vehicle and pay attention to which entrance you used to enter the Fairgrounds. Don't forget to lock your doors!

6. Avoid looking like a blue ribbon tomato and bring sunscreen! And if your thin on top, wear a hat!

7. The 11 days of the Fair are usually marked by beautiful, sunny weather. While our vendors have plenty of food and beverages you may want to indulge in, make sure that you also drink lots and lots of water! It is important not to get dehydrated!

8. Time flies when you are at the Fair, so don’t forget to pick up a schedule from the FairCrackers at the gate as you enter the grounds. Or check the events out before you leave home on the Web site at www.georgianationalfair.com. We'd love for you to return for a second, third, fourth day, but in case you can't, make sure you don’t miss a thing!

9. We are known as "the clean Fair!" Help us out! Take the extra steps to the closest trash barrel.

10. Don't panic if you get separated from your party - plan ahead. Set up a meeting point as soon as you arrive in case you lose the folks you came with. The best place to meet if you become separated is the Tower!

11. Don't wait until you are doing the dance and proclaiming, "Oh, do I have to go. I really have to go!" The Fairgrounds has plenty of clean restrooms, so why not stop in now! And remember, WASH YOUR HANDS!
